Miller Chatman, 83, a native of Warren, Ar., and a resident of Gibson, La., died at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, October 14.
He is survived by his wife, Zanella Thomas Chatman; one son, Dwayne Chatman of Oakland, Ca.; two daughters, Zanella Chatman Mathews and husband Mandell of Oakland, and Cheryl Chatman Hanzy and husband Elijah of Gibson; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Daisy Farver; one son, James Otis Thomas; one sister, Delois Burnham; and his grandparents, the Rev. Louis and Donie Chatman.
He was a member of St. James Baptist Church. He was drafted into the U.S. Marine Corps and re-enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was retired.
He was buried at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
